UnknownPoles.com started in 2019 with a broken snowmobile and a question: why does everyone go to the same North Pole flag? The planet has magnetic poles that run away, poles of cold, poles of inaccessibility — the farthest point from any coast — and poles no one has named. We find them. We document them. We bring you with us.

Why unknown poles move
The magnetic north pole sprinted from Canada toward Siberia at 55 km/year. Ice domes shift. Coastlines redraw inaccessibility. We measure what textbooks can't keep up with.
Magnetic drift lab
We carry 3-axis fluxgate magnetometers. You will see compass go crazy live at 86°N. Data goes to global declination models.
Ice core stories
Shallow 12m cores hold 200 years of ash, lead, microplastics. We melt, filter and count together in heated lab tent.
